Review

Bentley runs the Worm Farm Alliance, The Compost Guy, Worm Composting Canada, and Red Worm Composting. Just from the list of sites he runs, it's easy to tell that he's a busy guy, extremely well connected in the vermiculture and vermicompost community. Having caught the worm bug early, he's had plenty of time to build up an audience and a set of products. He's also had time to tire of all the work required to build the community. And make no mistake, Bentley is extraordinarily community minded.

At one point Bentley sat down and wrote out the difference between all of his products and the free stuff you'll find on Facebook. This highly detailed post makes an excellent case for paying for high-quality information and the opportunity to meet with high-quality people in the community.

One thing that sets Red Worm Composting apart from other sites is the introduction to The Urban Worm Bag. Many worm farm businesses sell this product, and for good reason. Because of Bentley's deep knowledge and long association with the community, his introduction delves deep into the history of the product, something not available elsewhere.

Plans for the VermBin are also available on the site. This is a flow through bin, like the highly efficient type used in commercial enterprises, but on a home scale. Since other flow through bins are very large and expensive, the option of building one seems like a great way to go.
