As much as the public has been urged in one breathless news broadcast after another to "follow the science", in reality, the science has lagged far behind policy throughout much of the current pandemic scare. So I read the details of the Great Barrington Declaration with great delight.
Having top scientists working on the problem around the clock is great. Even better is when they get together, agree, and put out declarations like this that the public can understand and get behind. Now we can "follow the science" because a large number of scientists are speaking with a single voice, as opposed to a few experts saying contradictory things, which are oddly in line with their political master's authoritarian leanings.
